Holstein Springer Values Inching Back Up

Holstein Springer Values Inching Back Up

A slight but positive upward trend continues in Holstein springer values this month.

No markets lost ground, and springer prices in Wisconsin made a particularly healthy jump of $400-500 per head.

This comes on the heels of reports that year-over-year U.S. mature dairy cow slaughter was up 15% in March and 3% in April.

At the same time, Holstein heifer calf prices remain in the cellar, with no reported markets reaching even $100 per head in the past month.
