Springers Steady in Open Markets

Springers Steady in Open Markets

Holstein springer values held their own compared to last month in most parts of the country. Though still well below the cost of raising, trade for bred heifers continued in most markets, despite historically tumultuous times in the U.S. dairy industry. The USDA is not reporting market results from New Holland Sales Stables in New Holland, Pa. until further notice, due to COVID-19. In Lomira, Wis. – the only reporting market posting values for Holstein heifer calves this month – calf values more than doubled compared to last month.
