World Dairy Expo Judges: International Jersey Show
For the 52nd year, World Dairy Expo will welcome North America’s finest dairy cattle and their breeders and owners to Madison, Wisconsin in October. Bringing a wealth of knowledge and international judging experience, sixteen individuals have been tasked with evaluating 2,500 cattle in five days.
Pat Conroy, Angola, Ind., Official Judge
Pat Conroy lives in Angola, Indiana with his wife, Jeannie, and their children, Kaiden and Zailey, where he markets high-end type and commercial cattle, both domestically and internationally. He also owns 60-90 registered cattle scattered throughout the United States and several countries. Conroy has owned or sold numerous All-American and All-Canadian Nominees, many of which have been recognized as Grand, Reserve or Honorable Mention Champion at World Dairy Expo and the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. Conroy has judged or fitted cattle in 17 countries throughout his career. Some of the most notable shows he has judged include the 2016 International Holstein Show, 2015 International Red & White Show, 2013 International Junior Holstein Show and the 2016 European National and Swiss Expo Shows.
Justin Burdette, Mercersburg, Pa., Associate Judge
Justin Burdette is an owner of Windy Knoll View Farm in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania with his wife, Claire, and children, Reese and Brinkley, and his parents, James and Nina. Burdette’s milking herd consists of 120 Holsteins and 20 Jerseys that he carefully breeds for high type in conjunction with production and components. Windy Knoll View has two prominent cow families in the barn; the “P” family which has three generations of Excellent 95-point cows and the “C” family that currently boasts 12 generations of homebred Excellent cattle. Throughout the herd’s history, Windy Knoll View has owned or bred more than 120 All-American Nominees or Award Winners. Burdette returns to the colored shavings this year for his fifth appearance as an Expo judge. Beyond Madison and other locations in the United States, he has evaluated cattle in Canada, Mexico, Italy, Switzerland and Australia.
